Member Rules of Conduct

Members are expected to act maturely and demonstrate respect for others, for themselves, and to the larger Galvanize community.In order to foster a safe, supportive and productive environment, members must:

  • Maintain professional relationships with fellow members, colleagues, instructors, mentors, student members, alumni members, Galvanize employees, Galvanize guests etc.Show respect to others, themselves, and to the larger Galvanize community.

  • Treat all Galvanize members, student members, alumni members, and employees with respect and always act with fairness, honesty, integrity and openness.

  • Respect the opinions of others and treat all with equality and dignity without regard to gender, race, color, creed, ancestry, place of origin, political beliefs, religion, marital status, disability, age, or sexual orientation.Understand the impact of their behavior both upon other members and the entire Galvanize community - Be courteous and responsive in dealing with others.

  •  Freely accept the responsibility for and consequences of their conduct. Communicate professionally if there are issues regarding conduct of themselves or others. Adhere to the Galvanize health & safety response as it relates to local public health guidelines.


In addition, the following are not permitted and are subject to disciplinary sanctions:

  • Uncooperative, disrespectful, or unprofessional behavior to your fellow members, colleagues, instructors, mentors, student members, alumni members, Galvanize employees, and visitors to the Galvanize campus. 

  • Disruptive activity that causes the obstruction of the learning, teaching, ability to conduct work or administration of Galvanize programs and courses.Violation of any term of the Galvanize Facilities and Portal Use Agreement, including damage to, or destruction of Galvanize property.

  • Theft of any kind, including seizing, receiving, or concealing property with knowledge that it has been stolen.

  • Using marijuana on campus.

  • Smoking in areas not designated for smoking on campus (ie. rooftop)

  • Possession of weapons, firearms, or illegal drugs at any time on campus property.

  • Any other violation of published Galvanize policies, rules, regulations, or agreements, including the Galvanize Policy Against Harassment. 

  • Misuse of the campus including sleeping on campus, abuse of the Galvanize Guest Policy, treating the facilities with disrespect etc. 

  • Any member may be temporarily suspended or their membership terminated for violations of the Galvanize Code of Conduct.


Dog Policy

Galvanize loves dogs and we want all members to have their dogs close to them if that enhances their member experience! We only allow dogs on campus and our dog policy may vary by facility and location. Please ask your Membership Manager for the most up to date information and copy of the pet policy agreement which we require each member to acknowledge.


Guest Policy

You are entitled to have visitors on an occasional basis. However, ALL guests must check in at the front desk and wait in the lobby to be greeted by you. You must limit repeat or regular visitors to only those persons who need to meet with you in person for your business purposes and for limited time periods. Galvanize has the right to require a guest fee or deny access to persons who Galvanize believes are regularly working out of a Campus. Galvanize also has the right to require any repeat or regular visitors to be sansubject to its membership process and pay applicable fees if admitted as a member.

Please be sure to let the Front Desk know if you have any DBA names so we can update our records. Packages can be delivered during business hours of Monday - Friday between 9am - 4pm.  As mailroom space is limited, any mail/packages over 2' x 2' x 2' left 72 business hours after delivery will incur a $15 storage fee per day unless arranged otherwise.

Kitchen Etiquette

The kitchens are part of our communal space that we are all responsible for keeping clean and tidy. Please feel empowered to remind fellow members that it’s all our duty to help keep our communal space pleasant and clean.


By following these steps, we can help ensure a clean space for all: 

  • All dishes should be taken from your work area to the dishwasher

  • Place all dirty dishes into the dishwasher, if dishwasher is full place in sink

  • Please remove clean dishes from dishwasher if none are available in your floor's kitchen

  • Do not empty solid food items in sink

  • Only keep food items in the fridge for up to 1 week. All non-labeled food will be tossed every Friday.

  • Keep coffee stations tidy and place trash and recycling in appropriate bins


Conference Room Etiquette

The conference rooms are part of our communal space that we are all responsible for keeping clean, tidy and accessible. Please feel empowered to remind fellow members that it’s all our duty to help keep our communal space pleasant and work friendly.

By following these steps, we can help ensure a more pleasant workspace experience:

  • Please check in via the iPad

  • Please leave all material (pens, dongles, HDMI etc.) in their assigned rooms

  • Toss any food/trash into the appropriate bins and please do not leave behind any dirty dishes and/or food items

  • Please push chairs in and wipe down the whiteboards prior to leaving

  • Respect fellow community members’ reservations and do not exceed your reservation time frame

  • Conference rooms are for active member use only

  • Please do not book conference rooms for your guests or they will be canceled

  • If you need to book more than 2 hours worth of meetings in a day, it is required you get approval from phoenix@galvanize.com or your booking will be canceled


Phone Booth Etiquette

Phone booths are part of our communal space that we are all responsible for keeping clean, tidy and accessible. Please feel empowered to remind fellow members that it’s all our duty to help keep our communal space pleasant and work friendly.

By following these steps, we can ensure a more pleasant workspace experience:

  • Phone booths are located on each floor.

  • Phone booths are intended for personal calls/conversations only and not for taking naps.

  • Toss any food/trash into the appropriate bins and take dishes with you upon leaving the phone booth

  • Be mindful of your fellow members and keep phone and loud conversations inside the booths due to other members working nearby and need the quiet zone.




Policy Against Harassment

Harassment includes, but is not limited to:

  • Verbal comments that reinforce discrimination based on gender, gender identity and

  • expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age, caste, social status, or religion.

  • Sexually-charged jokes, statements, or comments.

  • Creation or display of sexual images in public spaces.

  • Prejudicial surveillance, deliberate intimidation, stalking, or unwanted following.

  • Harassing photography or video/audio recording.

  • Sustained disruption of talks or other events.

  • Inappropriate physical contact.

  • Unprofessional conduct including comments, jokes, or statements.

  • Invasion of personal space.

  • Unwelcome sexual attention.

  • Advocating for, or encouraging, any of the above behavior.


These behaviors are not conducive to a welcoming environment and are therefore prohibited in all spaces (physical and virtual) that are encompassed in this agreement. Any member may be temporarily suspended or their membership terminated for violations of the Galvanize Policy Against Harassment.

Printer Set-Up

PC Set-up

1. Windows 8: (a) If you're using a mouse, point to the upper-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer down, and then click Search. If you're using a touch screen, swipe in from the right edge of the screen, and then tap Search. (b) Type Advanced Printer Setup in the search box, click or tap Settings, and then click or tap Advanced Printer Setup.

Windows 7: (a) Click Start. (b) Select Devices and Printers.

Windows Vista: (a) Click Start, then select Control Panel. (b) Click Classic View in the

left panel and then double-click the Printers icon.

2. Click Add Printer.

3. Select Add a network, wireless, or Bluetooth printer, then click Next.

4. Select The printer that I want isn't listed, then click Next.

5. Select Add a printer using a TCP/IP address or hostname, then click Next.

6. In the Hostname or IP address box, enter the printer IP address RICOH MP C5503 and IP address then click Next.

a. 1st floor printer 10.3.8.62

b. 3rd floor printer 10.3.8.61

c. 4th floor printer 10.3.8.60

d. 5th floor printer 10.3.0.14

7. Select the type of printer you are using, then click Next.

8. On the "Type a printer name window," do the following:

In the Printer name box, enter a name for your printer so you can identify it. If you want to make this printer your default printer, check Set as the default printer. Click Next.

9. On the "You've successfully added" window, do the following:

10. Click Print a test page.

11. When you have successfully printed a test page, click Finish.

Mac Set-up

1. From the Apple menu, select System Preferences.

2. Double-click the Printers & Scanners (or Print & Fax) icon.

3. Underneath the list of available printers already on your Mac, click the plus (+) sign.

4. To add a printer using IP (Internet Protocol):

a. On the top menu bar, select IP.

b. From the Protocol drop-down list, select Line Printer Daemon - LPD.

c. In the Hostname or IP address box, enter the printer IP address RICOH MP

C5503 and IP address then click Next.

i. 1st floor printer 10.3.8.62

ii. 3rd floor printer 10.3.8.61

iii. 4th floor printer 10.3.8.60

iv. 5th floor printer 10.3.0.14

d. Note: The printer name should be on the front of the printer.

e. In the Name box, enter a descriptive name for the printer (for example, Color Laser Printer), so you can identify it in the Printer pop-up menu.

f. From the Use drop-down list, select a printer model.

g. Select a model name from the models listed and click OK.

h. Click Add.

i. Select your printer's options from the list, then click OK.

5. The Printer List window appears with all the names of the printers you added. Your default printer is listed in bold text.

6. To change your default printer, select the printer you want from your Default printer drop-down list.
